Emily Ames was born and raised in Gaylord, Michigan and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Michigan in May 2013. Emily earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in December 2016. While in Law School Emily was a Managing Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review, participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and interned for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson. In addition, Emily worked as a student attorney for the Frank J. Remington Center Family Law Project, where she represented incarcerated individuals in a variety of family law matters. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and doing yoga.
