In a three-day trial, defense counsel Adam Fitzpatrick secured a unanimous jury verdict in favor of a large, southern-Wisconsin agricultural equipment dealership and service center. Plaintiff claimed that the repair work done by the service center resulted in the eventual fire and total loss of a John Deere Forage Harvester. Defendants contended that the repair work was not negligent and was not the cause of the eventual fire. The defense of this case involved complicated mechanical engineering and metallurgical science concepts, as well as the dedicated time and effort of the service center's employees. After a brief deliberation, the jury unanimously found no negligence on the part of the service center and its employees.
